EFFECT OF ANTIOXIDANT ON HEMODYNAMIC IN CADAVERIC DONOR OF ORGAN

Brain death causes total necrosis of brain tissue; cortex, sub cortex and brain stem. After brain death, a major disturbance occurs in body systems which causes different complication. Antioxidant prevents the effects of peroxidase on unsaturated bands of cellar membrane. In this prospective research 86 brain death donors studied from 2000 to 2005. They divided to 2 groups. The first group includes 39 patients who had received Antioxidant (Vit A, Vit C, Vit E) and the second group those who hadn’t. 39 (45/3%) cases were in the first group and 47 (54/7%) in the second group. There were 18 SAH, 11 Contusion, 4 IVH, 10 ICH, and 4 EDH in the first group. The average temperature in first group was 36/53 and in second group 36/53. (P = 0/008) .There were not meaningful differences between BP & HR in these groups. But temperature changes in the first group were very little in comparison with second group. The useing of Antioxidant for the brain death causes better maintenance of temperature, but have no effect on homodynamic.
